I'm on Mastodon!POSTED AUG 13, 2023

Following Elon's rebranding of Twitter to... err... 'X', I've decided to change things up myself. Last week, I started a Mastodon account . Its link has replaced Twitter's on the navigation bar of egrabow.com.

I started the Twitter account @RealRyanGrabow in 2017. My second novel, This Falling Eden, was a work in progress (and still is, ha ha) and I wanted to use the Twitter account to communicate with readers about its progress. In six years, user engagement has bordered on zero, unfortunately. It's worth noting that Caffeine's last release was six years prior and nothing was released during the last six years... so that's what I'm blaming it on. Since Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine, that war has been 95% of my Twitter feed. My own book-related posts have been sporadic.

Twitter (not calling it 'X') won't be dismissed all at once, though... not before Caffeine's re-release as the "2180 Edition". Shortly after it hits Amazon etc, I'll make the announcment on both social networks, and also on Facebook's DOOM Is A Lie Page, which isn't going anywhere. After the re-launch I'll deactivate everything on Twitter. I don't plan to delete the account... at least not yet.
